ROCK SPRINGS — Joseph Legerski, 69, of 218 Agate St., Rock Springs, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at his home. A longtime Rock Springs resident and former resident of Superior, Legerski died following a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 10, 1933, in Superior, the son of the late Michael Frank and Anna Roman Legerski. Legerski attended schools in Superior and was a graduate of the Superior High School with the class of 1951. He married Edith “Bonnie” Lucas on Dec. 22, 1955. Legerski was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as the office manager and bookkeeper for D.D. Converters. Legerski was a member of the SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Rock Springs; four sons, Joseph Legerski Jr. and wife Jamie of Salt Lake City, Bob Legerski and wife Bonnie of Rock Springs, Bill Legerski and wife Jackie of Rock Springs, and Tony Legerski and wife Bernie of Rock Springs; two brothers, Andy Legerski and wife Rosina and John Legerski and wife Liz, all of Rock Springs; two sisters, Josephine Ahlstrom of Sheridan and Anne Walker and husband Chick of Rock Springs; 11 grandchildren, Matt and Kristin Legerski, Zane Beadles, Joseph III and Madison Legerski, Sara, Lynne and Tyler Legerski, Cassie, Haleigh, Sydney Legerski; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frank and Michael; and one sister, Julie Legerski.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2003, at the SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs. The Rev. Tom Sheridan will officiate. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2003, at the church. Interment will be in the Saint Joseph’s Section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call at the Vase Chapel, 154 Elk St., Rock Springs, Friday afternoon until 4 p.m. and at the church from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday morning at the church until time of services.3

She was born on Oct. 19, 1919, to Anna (Roman) and Mike Legerski in Passaic, N.J. The family moved to Monarch a few years later to work in the mine. They later moved to Superior to work. Later her father retired in Rock Springs. She graduated from high school in Superior in 1938.
She married Bert Tavelli Ahlstrom on May 20, 1939, at Rock Springs Episcopal Church. Their daughter, Ann Marie, was born in Rock Springs. They then moved to Sheridan in 1940 to work in the mines. Sons Bert Jr. and Chris were born in Sheridan.
She worked at Superior Laundry, Jim Wolfe Accounting and Big Horn Avenue Grocery store. She enjoyed reading, mountains, taking care of her grandchildren, scrapbooking and photo albums. She also enjoyed sending newspaper articles to people, bowling, following politics and watching her favorite television shows.
She was a member of the Junior Woman's Club until it dissolved. She was involved in Civic Theater Guild plays by taking care of the cloakroom. She participated in many charity drives. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary No. 186 for 60 years where she served as the secretary and treasurer. She was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church where she helped with Sunday school, nursery, dinners, bazaars and the lunchroom. She was also a member of St. Margarets Guild, working for city, state and national elections for many years.
She is survived by three children, Ann Kilpatrick and husband Richard of Sheridan, Bert Jr. and wife Sue of Cheyenne and Chris and wife Sandy of Sheridan; eight grandchildren, Krista Kilpatrick of San Diego, Calif., Tom Kilpatrick and wife Joanne of Sheridan, Ken Kilpatrick of Sheridan, Kimberlee Eskierka and husband Duane of Las Vegas, Nev., Whitney Whitworth and husband Chad of Cheyenne, Ashley Ahlstrom of Denver, Colo. and Zach and Jake Ahlstrom of Sheridan; six great-grandchildren, Emily and Cody Kilpatrick of Sheridan, Christian Kilpatrick of Sheridan, Kaylee Kilpatrick of Lusk, Alex Eskierka of Las Vegas and Jackson Whitworth of Cheyenne; many nieces and nephews; brother, John Legerski and wife Liz of Rock Springs; and sister, Annie Walker and husband Chick of Rock Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Mike; husband, Bert; brothers, Mike, Joe and Andy Legerski and Frankie Legerski, who was killed in Germany during World War II; nephews, Michael Legerski and Chuck Walker; niece, Ivy Lee Beveridge; and infant sister, Julie.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at St. Peters Episcopal Church.2

Michael Frank Legerski Sr. immigrated in 1912. He married Anna Roman on 20 May 1916 at Passaic, Passaic Co., New Jersey.1,3 Michael Frank Legerski Sr. was a Coal Miner.2 He died on 19 January 1970 at Rock Springs, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming, at age 76.2,3,4 The cause of death was Acute coronary artery occlusion, due to Arteriosclerotic heart disease on 19 January 1970.2

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Vase Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Robert “Bob” Legerski, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones Friday, April 14, 2023, at his home in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He was a life-long resident of Rock Springs. He battled courageously for life until the end.
He was born April 24, 1959 in Rock Springs; the son of Joseph Legerski and Edith “Bonnie” Legerski.
Bob attended schools in Rock Springs and was a 1977 graduate of Rock Springs High School. He attended University of Wyoming and received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Education.
He married the love of his life Bonnie Struck on June 4, 1977 in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Bob was employed by Sweetwater County School District #1 as a Computer Technology teacher and coach for 32 years. He retired in May of 2015.
Following his retirement, he continued working with the youth community coaching junior high boys’ and girls’ basketball and the RSHS golf team.
He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community and the Knights of Columbus.
Bob was passionate about his faith and a fierce protector of his family, especially his grandchildren. He would devote as much time as possible with them. He spent his retirement being a sensitive caregiver for his mother, mother-in-law and aunt.
He took great pride in his yard spending most of the summer months outside. It was not uncommon to see him mow the lawn multiple times during the week, or find him sitting and admiring the flower gardens his wife planted.
He was an avid golfer; enjoyed hunting; fishing; camping and shopping for good deals at the pawn shop.
Survivors include his wife Bonnie of 45 years of Rock Springs, Wyoming; mother, Edith “Bonnie” Legerski of Rock Springs, Wyoming; mother-in-law, Georgia Fay Struck of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one son, Matthew Legerski and wife Meagan of St. George, Utah; one daughter, Kristin Legerski Doerr and husband Jason of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three brothers, Joe Legerski and wife Jamie of Daybreak, Utah; Bill Legerski and wife Jackie of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Tony Legerski and wife Bernie of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sister-in-laws, Terri Redman and husband Steve of Lyman, Wyoming; Susan Nichols of Rock Springs, Wyoming one brother-in-law, Daniel Struck of Rock Springs, Wyoming; five grandchildren, Ava; Addie; Leah; Trey and Emri; one aunt, Isabel Muir; numerous cousins; six nieces; five nephews, life-long friend Gerald Mattinson of Laramie, Wyoming and several close friends in Rock Springs.
