Nebel and Lucetta Marie Bassett, on 16 October 1926 at Lovell, Big Horn Co., Wyoming.^5,6,7 Preston Lee Parks died on 18 August 1994 at Deaconess Medical Center, Billings, Yellowstone Co., Montana, at age 88.^1,2,3 He was buried at Lovell Cemetery, Lovell, Big Horn Co., Wyoming.^8,2,3 He lived in December 1976 at Lovell, Big Horn Co., Wyoming.⁹ The cause of death was Gastric Malignant Lymphoma.³ He lived in March 1944 at Lovell, Big Horn Co., Montana.¹⁰

     Preston Lee Parks Jr. was born on 3 July 1927 at Lovell, Big Horn Co., Wyoming.¹ He was the son of Preston Lee Parks and Eliza Ann Nebel. Preston Lee Parks Jr. married Janice Marie Jensen on 8 November 1952 at Port Orchard, Kitsap Co., Washington.¹ Preston Lee Parks Jr. died on 24 December 1994 at Bremerton, Kitsap Co., Washington, at age 67. He was buried on 30 December 1994 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Bremerton, Kitsap Co., Washington.² The cause of death was Lung Cancer.

     Sarah Ann Parks also went by the name of Sallie. She was born on 6 April 1860 at Reynolds Co., Missouri.^1,2 She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Parks and Lucinda A. Rayfield. Sarah Ann Parks married William Henry Powers on 15 June 1883 at Reynolds Co., Missouri. Sarah Ann Parks died on 1 August 1941 at Piedmont, Wayne Co., Missouri, at age 81.^1,3,2 She was buried at Masonic Cemetery, Piedmont, Wayne Co., Missouri.¹

Mrs. Sallie Powers Called To Realm Beyond August 1st

The death "Aunt" Sallie Powers beloved Piedmont woman, who departed this life August 1st, at the home of her son in Piedmont, deeply saddened the hearts of her loved ones and friends She suffered a stroke on Sunday, five days previous, the end coming after her heart become weakened.

In poor health for some time, an illness aggravated by the infirmities of age, and injury suffered on March 31 1939, the passing of this good woman was not unexpected, but however came as a shock and brought sorrow to many.

The last few years "Aunt" Sallie made her home with her son, Attorney Wm T. Powers She loved to visit in the homes of others and often, no doubt, expressed herself as to the love for her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Powers accepted Christ as her Savior many years ago and united with the Missionary Baptist Church. She had been a faithful member of the Piedmont Baptist church for several years before her death, and prior to her injury in March of 1939, she was among the most regular attendants at the services of the church. She was a member and Past Matron of Piedmont Chapter No. 347 Order of the Eastern Star and was in good standing on the records of the Chapter up to her death, but was not active since her injury.

Mrs. Powers was truly a good neighbor in the words of those who knew her best. She kept posted on current events and this with her knowledge of early history in Reynolds and Wayne counties, and store of ready wit, made conversing with her pleasant. While her passing is mourned by the scores, she had lived more than her allotted years of mankind. She has attained her just reward-she has gone to the home prepared for those who look forward with faith. "Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the Courts of our God, they shall bring forth fruit in old age." (Psalm 92, 13-14). This can truly be applied to this life.

Funeral services largely attended were conducted from the First Baptist Church in Piedmont Sunday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. Mulvania, pastor in charge, assisted by Rev. J. R. Bullington, pastor of Piedmont Methodist church. 8 grandsons acted as pallbearers: Wm. T. Powers. Jr., Robert S. Powers, Clyde Ruble, Marvin
Wilson, James Brown, Edward S. Roberts, Arthur T. Powers and A. L. Powers. Jr.

Mrs. Sallie Ann Powers, nee Sparks, was born in Reynolds county, Missouri, April 6, 1860, and passed on to that after life in Piedmont, August 1, 1941, age 81 years, 3 months, 25 days. She was married to William Henry Powers in 1881, who preceded her in death February 28, 1930.

Surviving children are Mrs. Blanche Roberts of Bismarck; A. L. Powers, Lawrenceville. Illinois; Mrs. Walter Asberry, Leeper; Wm. T. Powers, Piedmont. Two other sons, Richard Terrell and Herbert Luen, passed away in 1900 and 1902, respectively.

Grandchildren surviving are: Mrs. Ruth Ruble, Mrs. Marvin Wilson, Mrs. Helen Brown, Arthur F. Powers, A. L. Powers, Jr.. Mrs. Geraldine Nicks, Edward Everett Roberts Wm. T., Powers, Jr. and Robert S. Powers. Seven great grandchildren are also surviving.

RITES SUNDAY FOR MRS. POWERS
Mrs. Sallie Powers died at her home in Piedmont and the funeral was held there Sunday afternoon. She was the wife of the late W. H. Powers. Mrs. Powers suffered a broken hip about two years ago and never recovered from it.
Surviving are A. L. Powers, Lawrenceville, III., who formerly made his home in Poplar Bluff; W. P. Powers of Piedmont, Mrs. Blanch Roberts of Bismarck; and Mrs. Walter Asberry of Leeper. Mrs. A. B. Milster of this city is a niece, and Lee Powers, Jr., also of Poplar Bluff, is a nephew of the deceased woman.
Mrs. Powers was a past matron of the Piedmont chapter of Eastern Star and well known in Reynolds and Wayne counties. Her grandsons were pallbearers, and her granddaughters, flower girls.

     Sarah Ellen Parks was born on 11 July 1878 at Lesterville, Reynolds Co., Missouri. She was the daughter of Marshall Lafayette Parks and Tolthan Ann Vann. Sarah Ellen Parks died on 24 January 1969 at Pilot Knob, Iron Co., Missouri, at age 90.

     Serena Jo Parks was born on 14 August 1949 at Bremerton, Kitsap Co., Washington. She was the daughter of Douglas Norbert Parks and Audrey Ann Houser. Serena Jo Parks married Freddie L. Moore on 13 April 1968 at Whatcom Co., Washington. Serena Jo Parks and Freddie L. Moore were divorced on 3 July 1980 at Whatcom Co., Washington. Serena Jo Parks died on 6 September 2011 at Centralia, Lewis Co., Washington, at age 62.

     Terry Lee Parks is the son of Preston Lee Parks Jr. and Janice Marie Jensen.

     Theophilus M. Parks was born on 12 July 1781 at Wilkes, Elbert Co., Georgia. He was the son of Charles Theophilus Parks and Sarah Marshall. Theophilus M. Parks died in 1853 at Searcy Co., Arkansas.

     Walter William Tucker Parks was born on 14 March 1837 at Lesterville, Reynolds Co., Missouri. He was the son of Marshall Lafayette Parks and Mary H. Williams. Walter William Tucker Parks died in February 1865 at Dixon Valley, Reynolds Co., Missouri, at age 27.

     Wayne Parks is the son of Glendon Dale Parks and Shirley Sue Stewart. Wayne Parks married Brenda (?)

     William Andrew Parks was born on 8 May 1851 at Missouri. He was the son of Andrew Jackson Parks and Lucinda A. Rayfield. William Andrew Parks died on 7 December 1872 at Missouri at age 21. The cause of death was smallpox.

Wm. Parks, son of A. J. Parks, clerk, died last Wednesday of smallpox. He was an excellent young man and one of Callahan's victims. No other cases of the disease have made an appearance.

We have heretofore given our idea of what Calahan deserves at the hands of all decent persons. We have nothing to take back, but think it should be a lesson to some people who consider themselves respectable, | and who were so ready, for political reasons, to aid this villain in his schemes. If responsible men had not backe Calahan, he would have been powerless for evil, and we believe in laying the death of Mr. Parks at their doors. The time will come--indeed it has already arrived -when any decent Radical in this section will indignantly deny having ever aided the Rev. Calahan, or patted him on the back while he was traducing the best men of a peaceful, law-abiding community. We know the election is now over, but believe in making all such electioneering devices so hateful, even to their originators, and so disreputable that we shall not see their like in another political campaign.

We learn from parties from Reynolds County that the small-pox has made its appearance there, imported from St. Louis. Our readers will recollect that Calahan swore that a son of Mr. A. J. Parks-a young man about 21 years old-was one of the men who Ku-Kluxed him, and had him arrested on that charge. Mr. Parks was taken to St. Louis at the time, when he gave bond for his appearance before the Grand jury, in November. During his stay there, week before last, he contracted the small pox, while his dirty, lying, villainous, low-flung accuser skulked away in some of the back counties, afraid to face the accused, or to try to make good his charges. We imagine it wouldn't be healthy for Calahan to get in too close proximity to the sick man's family.

     Spica Parsley was also known as Dutch. She was born on 11 November 1901 at Illinois.¹ She married George Scott Bennett, son of Henry Bennett and Delphia Harn, circa 1925. Spica Parsley and George Scott Bennett were divorced. Spica Parsley died on 4 March 1985 at Fulton Co., Illinois, at age 83.¹ She was buried at Maryville Cemetery, Bryant, Fulton Co., Illinois.¹

     Amy Marie Parsons is the daughter of Lawrence Michael Parsons and Karen Elizabeth Keough.¹ Amy Marie Parsons married Peter Michael Bulger on 19 April 1997.¹

     Arthur Vernon Parsons was born on 28 June 1883 at Medford, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.¹ He married Lucy Henrietta Van Kirk, daughter of Eron Curry Van Kirk and Henrietta Purdy, on 17 June 1922 at Alexandria, Virginia. Arthur Vernon Parsons died on 23 July 1951 at Washington, District of Columbia, District of Columbia, at age 68.¹

     Elizabeth Agnes Parsons was born on 18 October 1887 at Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota. She married Francis Michael Seiz, son of William G. Seiz and Ellen Mary McGuinn, on 20 June 1917 at Goodhue Co., Minnesota. Elizabeth Agnes Parsons died on 24 December 1979 at Wisconsin at age 92.

     Lawrence Michael Parsons married Karen Elizabeth Keough, daughter of Thomas Leonard Keough and Helen Philamena Vrzal, on 3 August 1968.¹
