WILLIAMSBURG - Robert Doyle Brigham, 92, died September 27, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma "Dickie" of 68 years and a daughter, Ann. He is survived by daughters, Barbara of Greenwich, CT, Susan of Hellertown, PA, sons Rob, and his wife, Anne, of Greensboro, VT, Wade and his wife, Mary of Hellertown, PA and six grandchildren. "Brig" grew up in Winnetka, IL and graduated from New Trier High School in 1940. He entered the V-12 program at Denison University where he served as a Communications Officer on an LST in the Pacific during WWII. Here he also was a proud member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He met his wife Dickie at Denison University. They married in 1945. After the war, in 1946, he went to work for Exxon (Standard Oil, Esso) and stayed with that company until his retirement. His many interesting assignments started in Baltimore, then went on to personnel work in Boston, New York, Toronto and ended in 1983 when he retired as Corporate Secretary and Executive Development Coordinator of Exxon Chemical Company in Darien, CT. After retirement they moved to St. Simons Island, GA and spent 13 happy years there before moving to The Williamsburg Landing Retirement Community. There will be a private family service in New Jersey.
