Mrs. Mildred Marine! Smith Eddy, 45, of Flovilla, Ga., died Thursday. She was employed as a Procurement Analyst for the U.S. Forces Command at Ft McPherson. In the Fall of 1993 Mrs. Eddy was awarded the Superior Civilian Service Award of the United States by General Dennis Reimer, F0RSC0M Commanding General. She was a member of the Gathers United Methodist Church in Newton County where she was a Sunday School Teacher, choir member and a member of the Women's Society. She had served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Joseph Eddy, children, Laurel Christina Eddy, Nathan Daniel Eddy and Madeline Eddy, all of Flovilla; her parents, Malcom and Mildred Riley Smith, Flovilla; sister, Lillian Cowell, Falls "Church, VA; brothers, Russell Smith, Tucker; Rex Smith, Atlanta and Rod Smith, Flovilla. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Gaithers United Methodist Church in Newton County. Rev. Herman Goddard will officiate, with interment in the Flovilla Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 til 9 and at other times at the residence of Col. and Mrs. Malcom Smith in Flovilla. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Marinel Smith Eddy Memorial Fund, co Mcintosh State Bank, S. Oak St, Jackson, GA 30233.
