Virginia Buringrud, 92 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN with her loving daughter at her side.

The service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Virginia Mae Noel was born on August 26, 1928 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Clifford and Inga (Brooten) Noel. She attended Knox Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls.

On April 10, 1949 Virginia was united in marriage to Arthur Buringrud. Together, they made Thief River Falls their home for many years. Their children, Kate, Jon, and Debbie were all raised in Thief River Falls. Virginia always said, “Thief River Falls is a pretty good town. It supports young people – always has. It’s a good town to grow up in…and great for a long life.”

She was much loved by family and friends and will be sorely missed. Virginia was a fun loving person with many friends that she enjoyed meeting for coffee on a daily basis. She walked with a group of friends regularly. Virginia was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.

Virginia is survived by her loving children, Kate of Melbourne, Australia, Jon of Munich, Germany, and Debbie of Reno, NV; grandchildren; Jessica Kaml of Fisher, MN, Romy Buecker of Duesseldorf, Germany; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Gregory; and siblings, Robert, Duane, Donald, Richard, William, Charles, Jerry, Beverly, Dorothy, Norma and baby Curtis in infancy.

Wiliam Paul Noel married Ruth Elaine Poppenhagen on 14 April 1957 at Pennington Co., Minnesota. Wiliam Paul Noel died on 21 January 2000 at Yuma, Yuma Co., Arizona, at age 68. He began military service on 4 January 1951 at US Navy. He ended military service on 2 November 1954. He lived in May 1976 at Yuma, Yuma Co., Arizona.¹

William Herbert Noel married Laura Cecilia Glover on 19 June 1915 at Polson, Lake Co., Montana.² William Herbert Noel died on 6 May 1954 at St. Joseph Hospital, Polson, Lake Co., Montana, at age 66.¹ He was buried on 10 May 1954 at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson, Lake Co., Montana.^3,1 He lived in July 1926 at Polson, Lake Co., Montana.⁴

POLSON-Funeral services for William Herbert Noel, 65, who died unexpectedly at a local hospital Thursday, will be at the Retz Chapel Monday at 2 p.m. with Dr. W. D. Copeland officiating. The Retz Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements and burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Mr. Noel was born Jan. 1, 1889, in Polk County, Minn., and had been a resident here since 1909. He was married to Laura Glover in Polson June 11, 1915. He worked as a scaler in woods and in a lumber yard.
Surviving are his widow, three sons and four daughters of Polson: Wilbur D., Gerald, and James R., Mrs. Leota Joy, Mrs. Marjorie Wall, Barbara, Patsy, and Mrs. Dorothy Watson of Hobson; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Bartlett, Whitefish, and Mrs. Uiva James, Seattle; three brothers Tracy, Centralia, Wash; Clifford Thief River Falls, Minn., and Harry in South Dakota.
