His family said it best "Granddad enjoyed fishing, a good round of golf, he was a NASCAR Fan but most of all he loved his family." Herschel is survived by a son, Alan Frizzell (Peggy), and 2 daughters, Sheri Speight (Ray), Melissa Babbs, (Bruce). He has 6 grandchildren, Josh Speight (Sydney), Tayler Tillage (Coleman), Bruce Babbs Jr. (Gail), Natalie Chapman, Nick Johansen (Michelle), and Ryan Johansen (Jen). Mrs. Patsy F. Smith, 71 , Mt. Airy died on Saturday October 31, 2009 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Charles Edward Smith.
Born on January 13, 1938 in Taylorsville she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Helen Harne Frizzell.
Patsy owned and operated Smith Meat Processing with her husband. She had also worked for Olde Town Restaurant and Westminster Knit. She enjoyed playing cards and going to auctions with her husband. Patsy was an animal lover and enjoyed and loved her cats.
Surviving in addition to her husband are five sisters; Eloise Wooden of Mt. Airy, Arta Gartrell of Taylorsville, Dorothy Gosnell of Mt. Airy, Joan Smith of Sykesville and Vivian Hann of New Windsor. One brother Hershel Bud Frizzell of Wake, Va.
She was preceded in death by one sister Yvonne Ripley and four brothers Truman, Horace, Paul and Harry Newts Frizzell.
Visitation: Friends may call on Thursday November 5, 2009 from 3-5 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy.
Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday November 6, at 11:00am. The Reverend Wallace Lusk will officiate. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park , Sykesville.

William Harry Frizzell, 75, of Mount Airy, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House. Born Nov. 4, 1935, in Watersville, he was the son of the late Truman A. and Hazel V. Haines Frizzell. He was the husband of the late Eleanor Louise Johnson Frizzell. He had worked for Donald VanSant building cabinets for 17 years and later worked as a welder at Westinghouse. He also rode in a truck with Harvey Myers for North and South Frozen Food Company. He enjoyed woodworking and restoring antiques. He belonged to the VFW in Oakland. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Terry and Kenneth Hamby, of Ellicott City, and Sherry and Albert Musgrove, of Mount Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law Kenneth and Rosalee Frizzell, of Westminster, and Robert Sr. and Sue Frizzell, of Mount Airy; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Walter and Gail Johnson, of Mesa, Ariz., and Gilbert Mayne Sr., of Mount Airy; a mother-in-law, Ruth Johnson, of Baltimore; grandchildren Edward Cason III and Melissa Caslow; and a great-grandson, Brian Hunter Blackburn. He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Mayne; and a nephew, Gilbert Mayne Jr. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W.
