Hailey Harn & Trevor Mielke announce the Birth of their special angel, Hazel May Mielke. Born Aug. 7, 2012 at 1:20 a.m., she stayed long enough to touch our hearts before she died at 3:20 a.m. Hazel was a beloved member of our family, and a joy to her parents. She will be missed by many in addition to her parents, including her Grandparents Judy Harn, Christine & Larry Mielke, and Larry Harn & Jeanne Taylor; her Aunts & Uncles; Great Grandmothers; Great Aunts & Uncles; Cousins; & friends of the family. While too short and bittersweet, we could not have loved her more. Now she's in Heaven where she can be held, cuddled, and loved by God, but she will live on in our hearts forever. There will be a small, private graveside service & gathering to be held for Baby Hazel May. To post a condolence to the family, please visit www.ParkerKohlFuneralHome.com.1

Ocie I. Miles Kelsey
Ocie I. Miles Kelsey, born Aug. 15, 1922, passed away peacefully Oct. 2, 2003. "She was a victim of Alzheimer's disease in her last years that left her mind clouded; but when she was well, you could not match her wittiness. She could think creatively of the most unusual things to make us laugh."
She was not able to finish high school, which haunted her, so later in her life, she took a test to get that degree and she was proud to have finished that. She was a care taker of any and everyone in her circle of life. In the Colonial Manor Nursing Home she would ask other patients if she could help them in any way. She was loved in the nursing home because she was so sweet and loving to those who cared for her. She also took care of her mother, Pearl, her siblings when they were babies and her own children even after they left home.
She worked briefly in a child nursery and loved the children and took joy in their growth and behavior. We would like to thank the people of Whitefish, including the employees of Safeway for looking out for her.
As a letter writer, she wrote to a pen pal in Scotland and kept in touch with new friends she met in Texas and Washington where she had visited and to her son and daughter who moved often.
She will be greatly missed by her family and her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee E. Kelsey; her brother, Raymond Bartlett; and her mother. Pearl Noel.

Indian Girl Tells Dramatic Story of Friend's Suicide
With a sob in her voice and tears in her eyes Lucille Ducharme last night, gave a coroner's jury a vivid picture of the shooting which took place last Tuesday at the Ducharme school house when Robert Miles, aged 21, described by officials as the girl's sweetheart, attempted to kill the girl and then turned the gun on himself and
took his own life.
According to the girl's testimony she had been staying with her grandmother Mrs. Lucy Ducharme and assisting her with the work. She was working in the building and when informed that Miles was outside and desired to talk to her she went out to see what he wanted. When she reached the place Miles was standing he asked her is she wouldn't go for a walk with him She declined and told him that she was too busy. After her refusal she quoted Miles as saying, "then this is the end I'm going to kill you". The girl said that he then flourished a revolver and as she made an attempt to grab the gun he shot, missing her She turned and started to run for the house when he shot again, the bullet striking her in the back of the head She fell to the ground dazed but after a second scrambled to her feet and was able to gain the sanctuary of the house, closing and locking the door behind her.
She testified that she heard a third shot but believed that Miles was still shooting at her and did not know that he had turned the gun on himself until later when Eugene Dupree, Frank Beauvais and Ted Moss came running to the scene from a nearby hayfield and found him lying on the ground with a bullet wound through his right temple. The men were summoned by a little 9 year-old girl who was standing on the porch of the school house and saw the whole affair.
Although Miles did not die immediately he was unable to talk or give any cause for his actions. Officials believe the shooting was the result of a lover's quarrel.
Miss Ducharme stated on the witness stand that she did not believe Miles had been drinking, and that when she first started her conversation with him he seemed normal in every way and not the least bit angry.
A note found in the man's pocket said. "I want the kids to have all of our stuff If Dad will take care of our kids Glod bless him. My suitcase is at Jim Harrington's in Molese". Both parties had been previously married.
Sheriff J. L. Taulbee and Coroner John Dimon were summoned and the girl was then brought to Polson where Dr. Murray Brooke and Dr. Dimon removed the bullet which although it had lodged against her skull, did not prove to be a serious injury.
After viewing the body and hearing the testimony of Florence Pablo who was in the school building at the time of the shooting; Frank Beavais and Eugene Dupree and Lucille Ducharme the jury returned a written verdict that Robert Miles died from a self-inflicted gun-shot wound. The body was taken to St. Ignatius for burial.
