On 15 January 1927, Rose Nestaval and Franklin Kerr were married in Cleveland, Ohio. Rose (Nestaval) Kerr died in 1961 and, on 4 November 1964 Franklin married her sister, Stella (Nestaval).⁴

SUN CITY - Thomas Franklin Kerr, 81, retired supervisor with Timken Bearing Co. in Minnesota, died Feb 24, 1983, at Boswell Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Kerr, of 10222 105th Drive, was born in Bay City, Mich., and moved to Arizona from Minnesota three years ago. He was a Scottish Rite Mason, past master, past high priest and past sovereign prince. He was a member of El Zaribah Temple.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary J. Denny and Marjorie Buck.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Presbyterian Church, 12225 N. 103rd Ave. Lundberg's Golden Door Chapel made the arrangements.

Earl D. Ketcham, aged 73, of Lowell, passed away Saturday in the Kent Community Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Zilpha; one son, John B. of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren; six step - grandchildren; one brother, Floyd M. of Alexandria, Minn. and two nieces. Mr. Ketcham reposes at the Roth Funeral Home in Lowell where friends may meet the family Monday evening 7 to 9. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. F. Ervin Hyde officiating. Interment Rosedale Cemetery. Mr. Ketcham was associated with the C&O Railroad 42 years, member of the Lowell VFW No. 803 and the Ionia Barracks No. 1262 WWI.

Laura Ann Kilby married Cynthia Tesdall.¹ Laura Ann Kilby died on 26 March 2025 at St. Louis, Missouri, at age 63.¹ She graduated circa 1979 at Murphysboro High School, Murphysboro, Jackson Co., Illinois.¹ Laura Ann Kilby was a Catholic.¹ In August 1996 Laura Ann Kilby was a Director of the public libraies in Smithton and Germantown, Illinois. Laura A. Kilby Blaes, 63, of Waterloo, IL died on March 26, 2025, in St. Louis, MO. She was born June 29, 1961, in Bloomington, IL, daughter of Marilyn Kilby and Edward Harn.

Laura graduated from Murphysboro High School in Murphysboro, IL and continued her education at Illinois State University in Normal, IL. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1983 with a degree in Library Science Education.

Laura retired from the Belleville Public Library in June 2021 after a 37-year career in several libraries in Southern Illinois, including serving as librarian at Gibault Catholic High School in Waterloo from 1984 to 1993. Her most gratifying achievements were her roles in the establishment of the public libraries in both Smithton and Germantown. Her greatest joy was “connecting people with information, one patron at a time.”

During her youth, Laura was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Murphysboro. She had also been active in the Teens Encounter Christ movement and the Newman Center at ISU, working closely with Campus Minister, Fr. Joe Kelly.

She is survived by her spouse, Cynthia Tesdall; mother, Marilyn Kilby formerly of Murphysboro; her best friend, Sr. Elaine Freund, ASC, of Waterloo; in-laws: Duane Tesdall, Kathy Tesdall, Bruce (Terri) Tesdall, Paul (Gail) Tesdall; half-siblings, Charles Harn and Diane Moore; nephews: Tony Atty, Zachary Harn, Travis James Tesdall, and Travis John Bradley; niece, Molly (Kenny) Johnson; great niece, Roselynn Tesdall; caregivers: Jane Vogt and Kim Nardoni; as well as many cousins, friends, library patrons, and her cats, ButterBean and CJ.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Thornton Harn; aunt, Anna Marie Harn; maternal grandparents, Harry and Mary (Riggio) Kilby; paternal grandparents, Eden Earl and Kimmie (Snuggs) Harn; mother-in-law, Patricia Tesdall; and her cats Muffin and Spencer, who brought her much joy over the years.
