Moved to Texas after father died, lived in San Antonio. Allen D. Harn is listed in the "Polk's Medical Directory" from 1890, as a physician in Texas. No graduation information was listed in this directory, which tends to indicate that the doctor did not receive formal medical education (which was not necessary in order to practice medicine at the time - many doctors were still being "apprenticed" under practicing doctors). The American Medical Association has no record of Dr. Allen D. Harn in their files.

     Allen Fasguhar D. Harn Jr. was born in 1869 at Texas; estimated birth from 1880 Census. He was born on 7 August 1869 at Texas.¹ He was the son of Dr. Allen Duval Harn and Josephine Camp. Allen Fasguhar D. Harn Jr. married Ladonia Wells (?), daughter of Lindsay Wells and Mary Simmons.

Wife of Allen Farquhar Harn-I found the obituary of his wife Ladonia Wells Harn-she died in 1919 in her hometown of Weimar, Colorado County, Texas of double pneumonia-the obit lists her fathers surname as Wills but should be Wells-also lists her husband as A. H. Harn-this should be A. F. Harn. Ladonia Wells Harn was a granddaughter of Martha Susana Insall Simmons and John Simmons-great granddaughter of Thomas Holifield Insall and his wife Mary Wholeship Insall.

Steve, I believe the unknown wife of Allen Farquhar Harn was Ladonia Wells. I cannot prove this because I cannot locate the family other then the 1910 census in Eastland Cty, Tx and Allen's death certificate in McLennan Cty. Ladonia Wells was a daughter of Lindsay Wells and Mary Simmons. Mary Simmons was a daughter of Martha Susana Insall Simmons-my great grandfather's sister. If you have further info, I would appreaciate hearing from you. The 1910 census listing Ladonia and A. F. Harn is consistent with the age of Ladonia Wells and the birth locations of her parents. Allen Fasguhar D. Harn Jr. was a Telegraph Operator. Allen Fasguhar D. Harn Jr. was also known as Allen Farquhar.²

Take Highway 90 east out of Navasota toward Anderson. At the Navasota Veterinary Hospital which is on the site of the former Camp Inn, turn right onto a pasture drive. According to Mrs. Melba Camp Byerly who is now deceased, the field around the Camp family vault was full of graves. The grave marker that she and her husband Sam Byerly found is:

The following obituary is from The Lompoc Record newspaper (California), 20 Nov 1947.
Final rites were conducted on Sunday for Mrs. Annie Harn Sells, long-time Lompoc resident who passed away Friday in the Lompoc Community Hospital. The funeral was held in the Starbuck chapel with Rev. O.J. Hoag officiating, and the Order of Eastern Star participating. Internment followed in Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Sells was a native of Faribault, Minn., where she was born on July 31, 1868. She came to Lompoc in 1918 with her husband, John Sells, who was employed with the Celite company. The deceased leaves her husband, a resident of Lompoc, now retired, and a son, Col. John K. Sells who is at present stationed at Nashville, Tenn. She also leaves two granddaughters, Ann Caroline and Sonia Ellis Sells, who reside in Santa Fe, N.M., and a brother and sister, Harry R. Harn of Chicago and Mary C. Harn of San Diego. Mrs. Sells was active in the Eastern Star organization in Lompoc and was a member of the White Shrine. Pall bearers for the funeral were Ray Stalker, D.D. MacArthur, Alex Main, Frank Jenks, Glenn Rohlfsen and Milburn Pickner.
